President Obama Talks to Executives about Economic Issues

I was invited by the White House to President Barack Obama's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness presentation in Pittsburgh on Tuesday, October 11, 2011. It was nice to be invited as the CEO of Just Between Friends, not because I write a column in a major newspaper. (The press were asked to be a separate part of the hall for most of the presentation, while I was able to mingle with the other executives in the main auditorium.)

I wrote it up in my PG column anyway.

I was about 8 rows back from the podium -- good view of the President when he arrived.

Sheryl Sandberg (COO of Facebook), Jeffrey Immelt (Chairman/CEO of General Electric) and other executives and dignitaries arrived shortly after I went through the airport like security. Here they are finding seats a few rows away from me.

You might notice the steel barriers in the background on the second photo. I noticed that the organizers had chosen to use Blockader Barriers inside and for the external security path. They are made by Tamis Corporation, a former consulting client of mine. Good choice. Congrats to Tamis.
