Microsoft
Announces Windows Vista
The
new operating system will take the place of Windows XP in mid-2006.
There's already a small amount of info on this new product (until
now, called Longhorn as its code name) at Microsoft's Windows
Vista Home Page.
I
also have a great graphic that
shows what the user interface might look like.
It illustrates newer graphic capabilities and new navigation elements.
If you're a Beatles fan, you'll get a special charge out of this.
Windows
Genuine Advantage
Microsft's
new program is out to convert over 10 million users of non-genuine
Windows software (who think they have the real thing). How
do you know whether you have the real thing?

It's
not pretty; but if it has happened to you, you must read about the
causes, the solutions, and the prevention.

Bankhook.A
Steals Your Bank Password
Bankhook.A
is an indication that organized crime is starting to take advantage
of security holes on the Internet for gain. It downloads to
your system as an Internet Explorer helper when it serves you a
pop-under ad. (You thought those pop-unders were just annoying.)
You can avoid Bankhook.A But the choices aren't all that pretty.

From
The KDKA Morning Show
- The music
downloading controversy continues. This time, it's the RIAA
that is getting sued. On
this page, I give you my take on the issue - including my
opinion about whether you should sign up for the amnesty agreement.
Plus, I have links to sample documents - the RIAA complaint, the
RIAA settlement agreement, and the details on the amnesty program.
